Jose Mourinho has launched an aptly named wine business alongside his management career.

The legendary manager has taken on a new venture alongside his management duties at Fenerbahce. Mourinho has cemented himself as one of the greatest managers of all-time through his success in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain, and the 61-year-old is now aiming to be a hit in the wine business.

Mourinho launched his red wine brand called ‘The Special One’, of course, on his Instagram on Monday. Appearing in the promotion video himself, Mourinho sat in a leather chair talking about his reputation and success before pouring himself a glass of his wine in a fashion that only Jose could pull off.

The Portuguese began with his back to the camera with piano music in the background. Wearing, a stylish blue suit, he narrated over the video, adding in a number of references to his iconic statements over the years.

Jose said: "Finals, I've won them. Leagues, I've conquered them. I've never been one of the bottle. I make the bottle. I prefer not to speak. My achievements, my success, my work. They speak for themselves. This is the Special One, now yours to share."

Mourinho captioned the launch: "As someone who values precision, quality and excellence in every endeavour, I am proud to present my very own wine ‘The Special One’.

"Handpicked from one of my favourite regions in Portugal, this wine reflects the spirit of my homeland and my relentless desire to enjoy every moment in life.

"Crafted with passion and care, it is a gift from one special one to another. This wine is meant to be shared with someone truly special."

Mourinho has joined the likes of Lionel Messi, David Ginola and Gianluigi Buffon in the extensive list of footballers who have gone on to become entrepreneurs in the wine game.

The Portuguese is in a title pursuit with Fenerbahce, currently six points behind reigning champions Galatasaray, who have gone the entirety of the first half of the league season without defeat, beating Fenerbahce 3-1 away in September. Mourinho’s side also sit inside the Europa League play-off position by one point with Lyon and Danish champions Midtjylland left to face.
