Harvey Eliott has opened up about his Liverpool future after being linked with a move away from the Anfield outfit in January.

Elliot has featured just 11 times for the Premier League title hopefuls all season, with Arne Slot having often favoured the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones in the No.10 role instead.

A foot problem picked up earlier this season did keep him out of action for some time, but since returning from the injury, all of Eliott's Premier League minutes have been reserved for substitute appearances.

That was the case this weekend when the Englishman came off the bench to help inspire Liverpool to a much-needed three points against Brentford.

And contributing to Liverpool's title charge is something Elliott intends to do more between now and the end of the season, with the 21-year-old insisting he isn't planning on seeking new pastures despite links to Brighton and Borussia Dortmund.

The boyhood Liverpool fan said after the 2-0 victory in west London: “Liverpool is my club. Liverpool is my team. I want to fight for my place, fight for my position in the team.

“It’s down to me to put in the effort, the hard work, the desire, to make that achievement. I am not going to give up, I am going to keep fighting."

Eliott did reveal he's had conversations with Slot about his playing time, admitting he'd like it to improve, but he is willing to wait for his opportunity.

He added: "We've had those conversation but it's not just me. There are other lads in the team who maybe haven't played as much as they want and are probably doing the same thing.

“I just have to keep working hard, keep trying to help the team out whenever I'm needed and just wait for my opportunity. I don't expect to come in and play straight away. I want to help my team out as much as I can and the club and give everything I can.”

Eliott's contributions off the bench against the Bees didn't go unnoticed, with Slot quick to praise the ex-Fulham starlet during his post-match debrief.

The Dutchman said: “I was [delighted Elliott's performance when he came on] and I'm happy we give you a chance to ask another question!

“All the other interviews, there was a lot of focus on Darwin [Nunez] because he scored two goals and every time I said, 'Yeah, but don't forget Harvey – he had a big impact on both goals as well.'

He added: “It's so nice for me, for us as a team, that I have players that can impact the game on the bench as well. This happened at [Nottingham] Forest with [Diogo] Jota and Kostas [Tsimikas] and today with Harvey and with Darwin."

Liverpool return to action in midweek when they take on Lille at Anfield in the Champions League.
