Sometimes football can be a cruel game, as Ana Maria Markovic recently found out.
The Croatian forward has been dubbed the 'world's most beautiful footballer', but recently took to social media to claim she hates the beautiful game sometimes. Markovic currently plays for Portuguese side Braga, whom she joined last summer from Swiss team Grasshoppers.
The blonde bombshell has more than 4.5million followers across her Instagram and TikTok pages. Recently, she posted a video to TikTok of her crying. "Sometimes I just hate football," wrote Markovic in the caption.
And in the video she revealed she was saying goodbye to her boyfriend, Tomas Ribeiro, who has recently signed for Farense from Vitoria. In the video, Markovic can be seen crying while saying goodbye to Riberio at the airport as he embarked on his move to his new club.
She also wrote a caption to accompany the video which read: "Good luck bubi, you will do amazing and I can't wait to see your games."
The move to Vitoria means Ribiero will swap the north of Portugal, which is quite the distance to Markovic's base in the south of the country.
In the comments section of the video, her fans chimed in with their responses. "I'm crying with you," wrote one fan on TikTok.
A second fan, who was German, wrote: "Hey, didn't you just move to Braga because of him? Then why does he just move to the other end of Portugal after six months?" prompting Markovic to reply: "No, my move to Portugal wasn't just because of him."

A fourth wrote: "Majority of people don't understand the struggle of playing football and having to do long distance relationships.. the sacrifice is emotionally demanding.. but you've got this."
Farense also replied to the TikTok, writing: "You will be very well received!"
