Victoria Silvstedt wants to win to Eurovision at the age of 50

Victoria Silvstedt was a staple of 1990s pop culture, a Playboy queen, one of the world's hottest women and is now aiming to become Sweden's Eurovision entry for 2025 at the age of 50 – but a former Premier League footballer still wants to know if she's the GOAT.

So you can forget Mo Salah's contract negotiations, Alexander Isak putting Arsenal to the sword or the latest issues at Manchester United for now and concentrate on the good stuff.

Superstar Silvstedt rose to worldwide fame after being named Miss Sweden back in 1993 and finishing in the top 10 of the Miss World pageant before being signed up as a model and working for top fashion houses Chanel, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Valentino and more.

Shortly afterwards, the bewitching blonde caught the eye of Playboy entrepreneur Hugh Hefner, and was named 1997 Playmate of the year, featuring in many of the company's magazines. She has also featured on over 500 magazine covers for other brands like FHM, Hello!, Vanity Fair and Glamour among many others.

A talented model, stunning Silvstedt has also appeared on hit US TV shows like 'Melrose Place' and Hollywood films like 'Boat Trip'. The Swede has also had a stint off Broadway, presented TV shows like Channel 4's late-night smash hit 'Eurotrash', and had her own dance music album which went gold in Sweden.

Victoria Silvstedt has an array of talents

The sultry Silvstedt is now set to take part in Sweden's 'Melodifestivalen' where she will perform her own song, 'Love It!' in a battle with five other artists in her semi-final on March 1 in a bid to secure a spot in the final on March 8. The eventual winner will then represent Sweden in Basel on May 17 in the historic Eurovision finals.

So, with a career and resume like that to offer, there is surely no question about her talents? Well, not if you ask former Portsmouth ace John Utaka.

The former powerhouse winger, who played 49 times for Nigeria before his retirement in 2018, including being part of the Super Eagles' 2010 World Cup squad, was not convinced of her credentials and insists the only way to his heart is through his stomach.

After spotting Silvstedt at the screening of his feature documentary 'The Road Home', the 2008 FA Cup winner, who turned 42 earlier this week, said: "She's beautiful but I hope she can cook goat soup and fufu if I take her to Nigeria to meet my family."

While unlikely to know the recipe for an African staple meal off by heart, it's likely the impressive Silvstedt won't have a spare moment to learn anytime soon.

Ahead of her Eurovision adventure, she said on Instagram: "What a dream come true. I don't really understand yet that I'm going to participate in @melodifestivalen. It’s going to be so much fun...but a lot of time and sweat should be put into making it good. I Love it!"
