JLingz Ltd had been in the red since its inception 6½ years ago

Latest accounts lodged with Companies House show the merchandise firm has debts of £276,883.

The brand had been in the red since its inception 6½ years ago.

Shortly before playing for England in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Lingard applied for trademarks to cover clothing, footwear, headgear and his JL symbol goal celebration.

The first JLingz products went on sale that year, but Lingard was criticised for launching a brand rather than concentrating on football.

Pundits Roy Keane and Gary Neville later hit out at him before Liverpool beat Man United 3-1.

Ex-United defender Neville said: “Before Liverpool away — the biggest match of the season — don’t launch a clothes brand.”

He fell out of favour at United and went on loan to West Ham before a 2022 free transfer to Nottingham Forest.

He joined FC Seoul in February.
