We now have just over a week until the January transfer window opens and it's set to be a busy month for Premier League teams. A number of clubs are in clear need of reinforcements, with injury lists growing amid a frenzied schedule.
Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all touted to make signings after a disappointing first half of the campaign. Tottenham are also expected to into the market, with Ange Postecoglou in desperate need of another goalkeeper.
Despite being clear at the top of the table, Liverpool too are after signings to make sure they have the squad depth to go the distance. Only £96.2million was spent in January by top-flights in 2024, with that figure set to be easily surpassed this time around.
Bayern Munich 'considering' Jamie Gittens transfer
Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a shock Bundesliga move for Jamie Gittens.
The Borussia Dortmund star has enjoyed a fantastic season, scoring nine goals in 23 appearances.
Sky Germany report that Gittens is attracting interest from Bayern but that a January transfer is out of the question.
Gittens, 20, is an England youth international.
Man Utd target Osimhen drops huge hint
Victor Osimhen has put the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea on red alert with his latest comments after his loan spell in Turkey.
The Napoli striker, currently at Galatasaray, spoke out after his side beat Kayserispor 5-1.
“I think it was very important to come to this team and be a part of this big club,” he said. “They made me feel at home. I adapted very easily with Barıs, Yunus, Gabi, Dries. I learned their game quickly. I was happy to be able to help. We are undefeated in Europe. We have to go step by step. We continue on our way in the Super Lig.”
Man Utd 'monitoring' Nico Williams
Man Utd are monitoring Nico Williams ahead of a potential transfer, reports in the Spanish media claim.
Williams has a £48m release clause in his Athletic Bilbao contract.
The winger, who could replace Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, was a star of the Spain team at Euro 2024.
Virgil van Dijk offers Liverpool contract update
Virgil van Dijk insists he remains in no rush to decide his Liverpool future - but has shut down suggestions an agreement is close.
He will enter the final six months of his deal on January 1 when he becomes free to negotiate a free summer transfer overseas.
Van Dijk said: "There is no deadline at all. I’ll see what the future holds. I focus fully on Leicester."
Arteta plays down January plans
Mikel Arteta has rejected the idea the club will buy players in January to solve their current injury problems.
Following the news that Bukayo Saka is out until February, Raheem Sterling has also been ruled out for 'weeks' with a knee problem.
"My intention right now is to get the best of what we have," he said in his press conference moments ago. "I’m putting some ideas together. I haven’t got there yet but I have a few. I want to speak with them as well and take it in a positive way."
