Per Journalist Ben Jacobs, Premier League giants Manchester United have held positive talks with Paraguayn club Cerro Porteno over the transfer of 17-year-old wing-back Diego Leon. Cerro Porteno are demanding $4m plus add-ons which could increase the value of the deal to $8m. The player remains optimistic that an agreement will be reached soon.

Recent reports have claimed that United are prepared to sell half of their squad in the next couple of transfer windows as club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group are planning for a rebuild. Amid talks of selling 50 percent of their squad, manager Ruben Amorim opened up on his transfer strategy.
Man Utd's cut-price Rashford valuation revealed
Manchester United do not expect any convincing offers to come in for Rashford in January, the Daily Mail reports, but his sale has become a priority for the club. United must shed players to avoid breaking profit and sustainability rules and, as a homegrown player, Rashford's sale would count as 100 per cent profit on their balance sheet.
At one point in his United career, the Old Trafford club would have laughed off any offer below £100m ($127m), but his disappointing performances over the last two seasons have seen his value plummet.

Tonali's agent rules out Newcastle departure
Newcastle United star Giuseppe Riso has opened up on whether the midfielder plans to return to the Serie A next season. Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Riso said: "Sandro is absolutely not considering to return in Serie A. He's happy at Newcastle, happy to play in the best league in the world and he's an idol for Newcastle fans who've always supported Sandro in every moment."
Gomez reveals how close he came to leaving Liverpool
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has admitted he came very close to leaving Anfield in the summer and moving to Newcastle United.
Speaking to reporters, the defender said: "Yeah, [leaving] was definitely for real. But my focus was always on the club. I know how blessed I am to be here. It will be 10 years next summer. I don't take that for granted. It is the best club in the world in my eyes and (after the transfer didn't happen) it was quickly a case of adapting and getting right back into the swing of things. It was quickly put to bed. That's football. I am a big believer in focusing on the present. To be somewhere nearly 10 years and not have any blips would not be natural, which probably speaks about my ambition."
Real losing hope of signing Davies as they look to speed-up Trent pursuit
According to Cadena SER, Bayern Munich have already approached Alphonso Davies with two new contract offers this month and while the full-back is yet to commit his future to the Bundesliga side, it is believed that he is slowly considering the idea of staying at the club.
This has prompted the Spanish champions to step up their pursuit of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold as they do not want to waste time over bidding wars for Davies.

Per Fabrizio Romano, despite interest from several top clubs including Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Turkish sensation Arda Guler is unlikely to move away from Real Madrid in January. Guler reportedly is loving his time at Stamford Bridge and there is no way he wants to leave the team.

Jose Mourinho has left the door open to returning to Real Madrid, insisting he will "always be a big fan" of the club.
"I'll always be a big fan of Real Madrid. They have the best coach in the world, my friend Carlo. He's doing very well," Mourinho said.
