WHAT HAPPENED?
Pogba is into the final months of his doping ban and will be free to play football again in March 2025. The midfielder remains a free agent after Juventus mutually terminated his contract, and he has been strongly linked with a move to French club Marseille. Pogba's fellow ex-United colleague Patrice Evra had earlier endorsed his move, while current Marseille star Adrien Rabiot 'invited' him to join the team next year.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Amid speculation over the Frenchman's future, RMC Sport report that Marseille are indeed keen on signing the free agent once his ban is over, while Pogba himself is open to the move. Club owner Frank McCourt has reportedly been a fan of the midfielder ever since he watched him in action at Euro 2016 and so is willing to sign his favourite player.
DID YOU KNOW?
Pogba is yet to make any public statement on his future plans, with there has also been talk of interest from American clubs in MLS and Saudi Pro League sides. It remains to be seen if he finally decides to ply his trade in his homeland and reunite with former United teammate Mason Greenwood.
WHAT NEXT FOR MARSEILLE?
Roberto De Zerbi's side, who are currently five points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, will be next seen in action on Saturday as they lock horns with Lille in Ligue 1.
