Why Erling Haaland's new Man City deal is facing delays - revealed
Erling Haaland is on the verge of agreeing to a new Manchester City deal which will reportedly make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
The Mirror report that there is still one aspect of the terms of the new deal that is delaying the player's signature on the dotted lines. The 24-year-old has a £150 million ($189m) release clause in his existing contract, which the club want to exclude from the new deal, but the player's representatives want it to remain. However, there could be a compromise in the negotiations where both parties agreed to increase the value to £200m ($253m).
Barcelona consider offering contract extension to Szczesny
Barcelona are reportedly considering offering new signing Wojciech Szczesny a new contract - just weeks after he joined the club.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper reversed his decision to retire from football to sign for Barcelona in early October as a result of first-choice option Marc-Andre ter Stegen's knee injury. Although he is yet to play for the club, MARCA claims Blaugrana sporting director Deco wants to extend the Pole's deal beyond the end of the current season.
Barca & PSG ready to pounce on Kvaratskhelia as contract talks stall
Per Sky Italia, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could leave Napoli as his contract talks have stalled amid interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The report adds that there has been a disagreement over the player's wages. Napoli reportedly offered €6 million (£5m) per season which is significantly less than Kvaratskhelia's demand of €8m (£6m). The player, though, could lower his demand if the club agree to keep his release clause under €100m (£83m).
AC Milan ready to bring back fan favourite Diaz
Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan could consider bringing back fan favourite Brahim Diaz to Italy amid his struggle for minutes at Santiago Bernabeu.
Diaz did enjoy a successful campaign in the 2023-24 season having recorded 12 goals and nine assists in 44 appearances as Los Blancos bagged Champions League and La Liga titles. However, in the 2024-25 campaign, he has struggled for minutes and has started in just two La Liga matches.
Man Utd plot new bid for Quenda
Per A Bola, Manchester United are reportedly trying to secure a transfer deal for Sporting CP wonderkid Geovany Quenda as soon as possible.
The report adds that before Quenda signed a contract extension until 2027 in September, the forward had a release clause of €45 million (£38m/$47m) but that has since risen to a whopping €100m (£84m/$105m) - the same amount as team-mate Viktor Gyokeres.
