Yorke set to take charge of Trinidad and Tobago
Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has been appointed as the new head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago national team. The 52-year-old, a football legend in his home country, takes on this role with significant experience, having captained Trinidad and Tobago during their historic 2006 World Cup appearance in Germany.
Yorke previously contributed to the Trinidad and Tobago team as assistant manager in 2009, bringing valuable insights and leadership to the squad. His coaching experience also includes a recent role in Australia, where he served as head coach of Macarthur FC for six months.
"I am proud and privileged to receive the honour of leading the Trinidad and Tobago national team," he said.
"The opportunity to work with this talented, close-knit group of players is something I look forward to. Having helped Trinidad and Tobago to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2000, captained the side at the 2006 World Cup and been assistant manager, my love and commitment to my national team is well documented.
