Jose Mourinho has set a timeframe for his return to England, insisting that he wants to head back to his "home" of London.
- Mourinho has managed Chelsea and Tottenham
- Says "London is home"
- Currently managing Fenerbahce in Turkey
WHAT HAPPENED?
Mourinho has revealed that, "one day" he wants to be back in London, as it is where his family live. The Fenerbahce boss has managed Chelsea across two spells, as well as Tottenham, and he has now claimed that he hopes to head back in two years' time, although he maintains he has absolutely no intention of leaving Istanbul before then.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mourinho's side are currently third in the Turkish Super Lig, eight points behind leaders Galatasaray. They also held Manchester United to a fiery, dramatic draw in the Europa League. In three games, they have won one and drawn two in the European competition.
WHAT MOURINHO SAID
Mourinho told Sky Sports: "I had three clubs in England, Chelsea twice, so in four different periods I've coached in England and I loved it. By the social point of view, of course I've been so, so lucky to live in so many beautiful countries and beautiful cities like Istanbul, Rome, Madrid, Milan, but my family lives in London. London is home. So one day I have to be back. Unless nobody wants me but one day I would like to be back. But don't get me wrong and let's make it very, very clear, for the next two years, this season and the next, nobody would take me from Fenerbahce."
WHAT NEXT?
Mourinho's Fenerbahce side play Trabzonspor on Sunday and will then take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League. As for Mourinho's return to London, we might have to return to that one soon.
