Red Devils boss Rob Elliot has “overriding pride” with first win under his belt

Crawley manager Rob Elliot hopes his side can build on the 3-0 win over Lincoln which ended a run of six successive Sky Bet League One defeats.
Town turned on the style after the break with Will Swan, Ronan Darcy and substitute Rushian Hepburn-Murphy all on target to give former Gateshead boss Elliot his first win.
“I have a mixture of overriding pride,” Elliot said.
“The lads need to take a lot of belief from the fact that that they are able to hurt teams going forward.
“Also they can take confidence that they have got a clean sheet and they can defend and stand up to a very good team.”
Elliot added: “To do that against Lincoln, our players should take incredible pride.
“It was a tough game for us to withstand the onslaught, as it was at times, and be able to punish them as well was very good.”
Lincoln boss Michael Skubala criticised his team’s game management after his side suffered a hangover from last Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat by leaders Birmingham
“It was a bad day at the office,” Skubala said.
“It is about your game management. We looked young in terms of how we managed the ball.
“It is everybody – young or old. You have to manage the game as a group.
“First half we had complete control, but we had a really bad second half.
“It is a tough league, styles are different and if you are two per cent off you can get hurt.”
