Champions League star Victor Boniface was rushed to hospital after a horror car crash on Saturday.
Boniface, 23, had been part of the Bayer Leverkusen side that beat Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in the day - with the Nigerian international netting the winner. However, Boniface was involved in the accident in the evening, sharing photos on social media.
Video footage from the scene of the accident appeared to show a black car with the front right side of the vehicle showing significant damage. Boniface also shared snaps of his blood covered hands and then him appearing to be in a hospital bed.
He appeared to have avoided any serious injury, saying on social media: "God is the greatest".
It's been quite an eventful week for Boniface, even before his winner, as he was part of the Nigerian side that was locked in an abandoned airport for 18 hours.

Nigerian players and staff were left without food, water or access to phone connections at the abandoned airport which had its gates locked. He said: "This is getting scary now. You guys can have the point. We just want to return to our country!'
The incident occurred prior to Nigeria's clash with Libya - that was ultimately postponed.
A statement from NFF said: “The delegation of Nigeria to Tuesday’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Libya still remained at the Al Abraq Airport 12 hours after landing in Libya.

“The chartered ValueJet aircraft was, strangely and in a dangerous manner, diverted to the small airport away from Benghazi just as the pilot was completing his approach to the Benghazi Airport. We understand the Al Abraq International Airport is only used for hajj operations.
“Fatigued players and officials have remained nonplussed as the host Libyan Football Federation failed to send any reception team or even vehicles to take the delegation members from the airport to their hotel, said to be 3 hours away in Benghazi.
“The NFF made arrangements for separate vehicles for the team but the plan was unhinged by the diversion of the aircraft. Players have resolved not to play the match any longer as NFF officials are making plans to fly the team back home.”
