AC Milan women's star Nadia Nadim stitched up her own wound after suffering a gory injury.
Nadim, 36, picked up the injury when turning out for the Rossoneri against Sampdoria Women over the weekend. However, it was no problem for Nadim - who works as a doctor when she's not out on the football pitch.
The Danish international shared a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, of herself fixing stitches into the gory wound, with blood leaking from the open cut. She then used some tweezers and scissors to sew herself up.
"This is just me patching up myself so I'm ready for the next game," she captioned the video. One fan, upon seeing the video, joked: "Um, this is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen an athlete do!"
"I'm starting to understand why Nadia became a doctor while playing football professionally," a second joked. And another added: "This is insane! Find a men’s player doing this at all anywhere!"
Nadia Nadim shared the video on social media
Nadim was born in Afghanistan to a wealthy family, but she was forced to flee when she 11-years-old after he father was executed by the Taliban. She arrived in Denmark as a refugee, first playing football the following year at a local club.
She has since turned out for the likes of PSG, Manchester City and Milan while racking over 100 appearances for her national team.
And Nadim accomplished all of that while attending medical school at Aarhus University (remotely during the football season) in Denmark. Nadim aims to become a surgeon after hanging up her boots.
She qualified as a doctor in January 2022.
