Per The Independent, the midfielder's stellar run of form has caught the eye of Real Madrid who are plotting an ambitious move for him.

The 28-year-old City talisman, who penned a fresh five-year deal in 2022, still has three years left in his existing contract. He recently opened up about his future at Etihad Stadium at a press conference amid interest from Los Blancos.

The Spaniard said to reporters, "I have three more years at Man City and when I sign the contract I don’t think of other teams. So I have three more years at Man City, and nothing more to say."
