Out of favour Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon is unlikely to leave the club this summer. Spurs have been trying to offload the Spaniard all summer as he no longer fits in Ange Postecoglou's plans, however, former scout Bryan King feels the player will stay back.

Speaking to Tottenham News, King said, "Reguilon still has another year left on his contract with the club. Therefore, why should he leave? This is where players and their agents can control a transfer. He doesn't have to leave, but it would mean him missing a year of senior football. If he is wise, and his agent is wise, he is at an age where he will want to be playing regularly. However, he is on very big money at Tottenham and it depends on whether or not a Turkish club can match that. Why should he leave for less money? He holds the cards."

Deco reveals why he went ahead with Olmo instead of Williams

Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Liverpool want to sign ex-Man United star Gomes

Barcelona sporting director Deco has explained why the club chose to press forward with the signing of Dani Olmo over Nico Williams.

"Today we have Raphinha, Ferran [Torres], the return of Ansu [Fati], Lamine [Yamal], players like Fermin [Lopez] or Olmo that can play in that position," Deco told Barca One. "To have brought someone else, he would have had to be of a very high level. With Dani's signing, it gave us more options. It's not that we didn't speak to [other] players but we had other priorities that were crucial in not bringing another forward.

"I think the signing of Olmo gives us a lot of balance in midfield. He's a different player compared to the midfielder we already had. So with him we improve on offensive quality. Because there were players, there were offers, there were offers for several of our players but we were clear that we didn't want to lose important players. If in recent years we have been building a team, we can't just dismantle it. So the idea was that we needed to raise the level, not lower it. We had to avoid the temptation to sell."
