Cristiano Ronaldo sets retirement date before ruling out his dream transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped the bombshell that he's planning to hang up his boots within three years.

The footie ace, now strutting his stuff with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr following his dramatic departure from Manchester United, is a household name thanks to his glory days at Old Trafford and a trophy-laden nine years with Real Madrid.

Having stepped away from Europe's top leagues, Ronaldo has confirmed he won't be making a playing comeback in the continent despite featuring for Portugal at Euro 2024, hinting that the tourney could have been his last European hoorah.

The who has said he'll likely draw the final curtain on his illustrious career at Al-Nassr, quashed hopes of a nostalgic swan song at his first club Sporting Lisbon.

Chinwagging with NOW, CR7 spilled the beans: "I don't know if I will retire soon, in two or three years... but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr. I'm very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I'm happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue," reports the Mirror.

Despite not finding the net during Portugal's Euro 2024 campaign, the goal machine kicked off with a trio of goals in his first three matches for Al-Nassr and is gunning for a spot in September's Nations League squad.

Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a bombshell about his future with the Portugal national team, hinting that his days donning the iconic jersey could be numbered. The football legend isn't eyeing a coaching role post-retirement either.

"When I leave the national team, I won't tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one," Ronaldo revealed.

"Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play. At the moment, I'm not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team.

"It doesn't even cross my mind, I've never thought about it. I don't see my future going through that. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds."
