Barcelona have told winger Ansu Fati to leave the club this summer as they seek to cut costs.

Per Sport, Barcelona have told Fati that he must find a new club as he has no future under manager Hansi Flick. Fati has struggled with a recurring injury, plantar fasciitis, and that, coupled with his large wages, have made him expendable.

Barcelona was dealt a major setback as key target Nico Williams appears to be staying with Athletic Club for another season.

Despite recent rumours indicating that the 22-year-old is unlikely to arrive this summer, the Blaugrana had been holding out hope to sign him.

As such, Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona is prepared to look for Nico Williams' replacement, however they do not completely rule out the idea of the Spaniard joining. The Catalans have Luis Diaz of Liverpool on their shortlist as they continue to focus on strengthening the left wing.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly threatening to cancel Conor Gallagher’s transfer from Chelsea after seeing Samu Omorodion’s move to England collapse, according to talkSPORT.

The official statement from Preston read, "Preston North End can confirm that manager Ryan Lowe has left the club by mutual consent. Ryan joined the club in December 2021, leading us to 13th, 12th and 10th-placed finishes in his two-and-a-half seasons as the club’s first team manager. Following discussions that took place on Sunday 11th August, it was mutually agreed that now was an appropriate time for a change to be made. Ryan leaves with the thanks of everyone at the club for his hard work, dedication and commitment, and we wish him and his family the very best for the future. For the two upcoming fixtures against Sunderland and Swansea City this week, Mike Marsh – accompanied by Peter Murphy and Ched Evans – will be in charge of the team.
