Liverpool are ready to join the bidding battle for Crystal Palace defender star Marc Guehi as they look to fortify in defence ahead of Arne Slot's debut season at Anfield as per The Sun.

Slot is keen to rival ­Newcastle for the signature of Guehi with Crystal Palace ready to demand £75 million ($96m) for the England centre-back. The Reds could also lose Guehi’s Three Lions team-mate Joe Gomez as part of a mega deal to land Magpies forward Anthony Gordon.

Todibo left out of Nice squad amid transfer rumours

Jean-Clair Todibo has been left out of Nice's squad during pre-season, with the ex-Barcelona defender still holding out for a move to Juventus.

Nice are holding out for a fee in excess of €35 million (£30m/$38m), an amount which West Ham had previously offered, but Todibo rejected the chance of a move. Juventus have offered a similar fee, however they would like the deal to be a loan with an option to buy, or with an obligation based on certain conditions – something which Nice are relucant to agree to, Sky reports.

Niclas Fullkrug has left Borussia Dortmund as he is on the verge of completing a move to West Ham.

From their official X handle, Dortmund wrote: "Niclas Fullkrug has left training camp in Switzerland on Saturday morning. Borussia Dortmund have allowed the striker to leave for talks with another club."

Sky Germany earlier reported that Dortmund are demanding a transfer fee of €30 million (£25m/$33m) for their star striker. The sum includes €25m (£21m/$27m) upfront, with an additional €5m in add-ons. The Hammers, meanwhile, had made an initial offer of approximately €25m, including bonuses.

Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck responds to Real Madrid links

Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck has responded to transfer links with Real Madrid as he commits to a future with the German side.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Schlotterbeck responded to the Real Madrid links, saying: "At some point, I would probably be tempted to go abroad, but I have been here for two years now and have identified so much with BVB that I really want to play here for the third season, and probably the fourth and fifth, too, so I am really happy to be at BVB and also see it as a certain honour.

"I am aware of [the Madrid rumours]. At some point, we can perhaps talk about it, but so far only Borussia Dortmund plays a role in my mind and I think for the next few years too."
