Real Madrid's interest in Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly 'getting concrete' amid uncertainty over his Anfield future.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Los Blancos' interest in the 25-year-old is escalating and the full-back himself is open to a move. This comes at a time when the England international is now in the final year of his Liverpool contract.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Alexander-Arnold is fast approaching Liverpool legend status but this season could be his last unless he signs a new deal, with his current terms expiring in 2025. The Reds academy product has been a key player over the years but with manager Jurgen Klopp stepping down last season, perhaps the defender wants a change as well.
DID YOU KNOW?
Alexander-Arnold, who helped guide England to the final of Euro 2024 this month, has made 310 appearances for Liverpool - scoring 19 goals along the way. The defender made his debut in the 2016/17 campaign and many Reds fans will hope he adds to his appearance tally this term.
WHAT NEXT?
Following England's final defeat to Spain in the Euros, Alexander-Arnold will head off on his holidays before returning for Liverpool's pre-season campaign in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen if he will stay at the club for the start of Arne Slot's Liverpool era.
