WHAT HAPPENED?
Per Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Pro League giants have launched an initial bid worth €30m (£25m) to sign Manchester City custodian Ederson this summer. The Premier League champions, however, are set to reject the offer as they will demand a fee in excess of €50m (£42m).
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Brazilian has reportedly agreed to make a move to the Middle East after Al-Nassr offered him a whopping £900,000-a-week deal. The Premier League champions, on the other hand, will place a final 'take it or leave it' offer in front of the star goalkeeper to prevent him from joining Cristiano Ronaldo's side.
DID YOU KNOW?
With the Brazil international's existing contract set to expire in two years, time is running out for the English club to earn a hefty transfer fee. If he does not agree to put pen to paper on the new contract, City are expected to sell him.
WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER CITY?
The reigning champions have begun their pre-season under manager Pep Guardiola and are set to travel to the US later this month to play friendly matches against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea.
