BBC Sport host Emma Louise Jones shares health update after 'months stuck in bed'

BBC Sport Host Emma Louise Jones took to Instagram to thank well wishers.

Emma, 34, revealed on social media last month she was taking some time away from work, posting on X, formerly known as Twitter: "My health hasn't been in a great place for quite some time now and I've spent more time in hospital than my own home.

"I'm taking time away from work/life to focus on getting back to full strength. I'll be back soon." And she has now updated her fans with a story on social media platform Instagram.

Now, one month later, she took to Instagram posting a story on Monday afternoon, it read: "I had an op a month ago, I'm on high dose steroids & trialling other medication & (touch wood) I'm feeling so much stronger)."

She continued to thank her fans and explained how she hopes to return to work soon: "Life is very simple right now. I spend my days walking Teddy, painting and gardening (Nanna would be proud)."

The presenter boasts a huge following of 424,000 followers on Instagram and has also been known to make jovial TikToks with colleagues and ex-footballers such as Jamie O'Hara and Alan McInally.

Leeds-born Emma's success in her broadcasting career, which has seen her host MOTDx, having previously worked on radio, has earned her a large social media following.

And it was when working on radio she admitted to a common mishap when driving: "So, when I drove my little BMW 1 series, I am one of those people who like, kisses the steering wheel when they drive.

"But that meant when I got out, you know, everything was towards the steering wheel, so I would accidentally knock the horn with my, erm, breasts. And it used to scare the s**t out of me!"
