- Man City set to offer new deal to Ederson
- Al-Nassr submitted massive offer to Brazilian
- City could sell the goalkeeper
WHAT HAPPENED?
Per The Sun, the reigning Premier League champions are set to place a final 'take it or leave it' offer in front of star goalkeeper Ederson to convince the player against joining Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr. However, the English club will not stop the player if he decides to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Al-Nassr are reportedly offering the Brazilian a whopping £900,000-a-week deal along with a hefty sign-on fee. While the Cityzens, under no circumstance will be able to match the Saudi club's offer, they are set to offer a long-term deal with a 75 percent hike on his existing wages. If he puts pen to paper on a new City contract he is likely to earn £1m per month from the upcoming season.
DID YOU KNOW?
With the custodian's existing contract set to expire in two years, time is running out for the English club to earn a hefty transfer fee for Ederson. If he does not agree to sign the new contract, his club are expected to demand a transfer fee in the region of £50m (€59m/$64m).
WHAT NEXT FOR EDERSON?
For now, the goalkeeper is enjoying a well-earned break after Brazil's early exit from Copa America 2024. He is expected to report to his club later this month and is likely to accompany the team on their trip to the US.
