Ex-Premier League manager’s daughter stars in Playboy awards list in Germany

Lea Wagner, daughter of an ex-Prem boss, is regular on German TV screens - and she's now been named as one of the most attractive presenters in the country

The daughter of a former Premier League manager has been named as one of the most desirable presenters in Germany.

Lea Wagner, 29, is the daughter of ex-Prem boss David Wagner - who managed Huddersfield during their short stint in the top flight between 2017-19. Lea has followed her dad into football - and she works on Germany TV channel ARD.

The stunner finished second in a recent survey by German Playboy, ranking just behind Anna Kraft, with 25% of survey respondents rating her as "outstandingly attractive".

However, football is not her only field of expertise, and German fans can expect to see her on their screen covering the Olympics as well as the Euros this summer.

She is also the face of the broadcaster's ski jumping coverage.

"Some people don't even know who my father is, and if they do, it's not a burden," Lea admitted to Bunte. "I'm his daughter and I'm happy about that because I can't imagine a better father. It was never my goal to move out of any shadow because I never felt like that."

She revealed she decided to follow her dad into sport after watching the 2006 World Cup: "I wrote the profession of 'actress' in a friendship book in elementary school, when I didn't know any other professions besides singer and actress.

"It was never a real career choice. I was in Cologne in 2006 at the Togo vs. France game and was fascinated by how the people sang and danced, how the Mexican wave went through the stadium.

"The stadium experience inspired me back then, the communal euphoria was enormous. When I was 15, I did a so-called 'bogy internship' for a week at SWR and was able to get a taste of the sports editorial department.

"Since then, I've wanted to do it professionally."
