After years of speculation Real Madrid have finally signed Kylian Mbappe and France team-mate Eduardo Camavinga has commented on the blockbuster move.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The transfer window hasn't even officially opened yet and still, the world already knows that Mbappe's move to Real Madrid will be the biggest deal this summer despite costing Real Madrid a grand total of zero in transfer fees. Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga has now opened up about Los Blancos' signing of his France team-mate.
WHAT CAMAVINGA SAID
Speaking to the media, Camavinga said: “It is the next logical step in Kylian’s career: Real Madrid is the club he needed after PSG. PSG could help him with his personal goals.
"Also on a collective level, because he wants to win the Champions League. So I think Real Madrid is the perfect club."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
It is indeed true that the Champions League has been a long-time target for Mbappe, as it is for every player. However, it has remained the only major trophy missing from his list of achievements, alongside the European Championship, something he can add to his collection before he even dons the Real Madrid shirt. He will hope that his wait for the Champions League can end soon as he joins forces with the Champions League specialists.
WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE?
The Real Madrid star will hope to soon another trophy to his list of honours as he leads France at the Euros in Germany. France will kick off their campaign with a clash against Austria with Camavinga also expected to start for Didier Deschamps' side.
