Milos Kerkez has been quick to earn admirers in the Premier League
Luke Shaw is first choice for the Red Devils on the left of defence but has made just 12 Premier League appearances this campaign due to a string of issues.
His deputy is Tyrell Malacia but the 24-year-old Dutchman has not played at all this season due to a knee problem that has dragged on and on.
This has seen the likes of Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot and Sofyan Amrabat all fill in at left-back, but all were playing out of position to do so.
As a result Manchester United are looking to bring in another option at left-back to provide cover and competition for Shaw and Malacia next season.
Bournemouth's Kerkez is on their radar after an impressive first season in the Premier League with the Cherries and a unique journey in his career so far.
The 20-year-old Hungary international moved from Gyor to AC Milan in 2021 but moved on to Dutch side AZ the following year after failing to make a swift breakthrough into the first team.
An impressive 2022/23 season in the Eredivisie and Europa Conference League earned him a move to Bournemouth and his star has continued to rise.
TalkSPORT report that Manchester United are interested in the player who made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries last season, although as he is on a long-term contract, he will not be a cheap option for the Red Devils.
Kerkez impressed Manchester United first hand in Bournemouth's 2-2 draw with the Red Devils in April, with Cherries boss Andoni Iraola singling him out for praise after the match.
'Milos has, I think, played a hell of a game,' said the Spaniard after the draw at the Vitality Stadium. 'He has been really good defensively. He has been really good going forward.
'He has played more forward and I think these kind of games where he finds more spaces, he can make his runs, carry the ball, find it two against one outside. I think it suits him very well.'
