Manchester United are considering a swap deal involving Mason Greenwood and Portuguese star Joao Felix.
Atletico Madrid are one of a host of European clubs keen to sign Greenwood - and are willing to offer United Felix in return. Attacking midfielder Felix has spent the last two seasons out on loan at both Chelsea and Barcelona.
He joined Atletico from Benfica in a €113m deal in 2019, which made him the fourth most expensive footballer of all time. But he has struggled to settle at the Spanish club and is keen to secure a permanent move elsewhere this summer.
It's understood Atletico have offered Felix to United as part of a deal that will see Greenwood join Diego Simeone's men.
United are considering if Felix would be the right fit at Old Trafford, while the 24-year-old is known to prefer joining a club that can offer him Champions League football.
Greenwood joined Getafe on-loan from United last season following his off-field problems - and scored 10 goals in 36 appearances. Juventus, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in Greenwood.
United have decided to sell Greenwood, who is entering the final 12 months of his United contract. Meanwhile, United midfielder Casemiro is in danger of being priced out of a move to the Saudi Pro-League.
United are keen to off-load the Brazilian to reduce the club's wage bill - and are willing to accept a bid in the region of £40m.
But a number of Saudi clubs believe this is too much for someone who is 32, and has a contract worth almost £400,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
