Bernardo Silva now has six Premier League titles to his name

The 29-year-old was instrumental in helping City retain their Premier League crown for a fourth successive year, marking the sixth time Silva has lifted the title in seven seasons at the club.

The cultured attacking midfielder is widely regarded as one of world football's best players, thriving in a side that features the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, but has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium for the best part of three years.

Barcelona are long-term admirers of Silva but have never been in a strong enough financial position to make an offer, while PSG have also appreciated the Portuguese's talents for some time. In previous windows, Manchester City had valued Silva at close to £80m and had no desire to sell.

Silva signed a contract extension through to June 2026 in August last year, that includes a £50m release clause that will become active next year, but he remains a key target for PSG, who are preparing for life after Kylian Mbappe.

Pep Guardiola regards Bernardo Silva as one of the world's best

90min understands that PSG have significant funds to spend this summer - Mbappe's departure will free up €225m, including forgone loyalty bonuses the club can reallocate, plus saved wages, taxes and social security - and intend to revamp their squad as they continue their quest to win a first ever Champions League.

A wide player, central midfielder - roles Silva would more than adequately fill - striker and a centre-back are the four priority areas for Luis Enrique's side.

Whether or not Silva could be persuaded to leave City remains to be seen, while it would likely take an offer of at least €75m (£63.8m) for the eight-time Premier League winners to entertain a potential sale - Pep Guardiola is very happy with Silva and would like him to stay at the club.

At the very least, PSG have ruled out making a move for Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes, and they will surely not make any headway in their dream pursuit of Gavi; another player they hold a strong interest in but one Barcelona consider off limits given they consider the 19-year-old a future captain of their club.
