Turkish side Besiktas have joined Fenerbahce in the race to sign Jose Mourinho as their next manager.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Premier League and Champions League winner is drawing plenty of interest from clubs as the season comes to an end. It was recently revealed that Fenerbahce are in talks to bring Mourinho to Turkey, but now Besiktas have entered the race, according to reports.
WHAT THE REPORT SAID
Besiktas vice president Huseyin Yucel has confirmed talks are ongoing with the 61-year-old saying: "We contacted Jose Mourinho a month ago and he welcomed our offer. We already resolved the economic details and will go to Italy next week so we can meet face to face. If we reach an agreement with Mourinho, then we will recommend he include Ricardo Quaresma in the staff."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mourinho has been enjoying some time off but he needs to consider his next move carefully. The Special One reportedly admitted he would return to Manchester United if they sack Erik ten Hag but it is unclear whether he will return to one of Europe's top five leagues.
WHAT NEXT FOR MOURINHO?
Nothing is imminent in regards to Mourinho's future but there are a lot of potential roles available this summer. Alongside United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea and Barcelona could all be on the hunt for a new manager and the former Chelsea boss' prestige will likely make him a candidate for most of them.
