Man Utd's defensive saviour? Tosin Adarabioyo targeted by Red Devils following Raphael Varane exit news with Fulham contract set to expire

Manchester United eyeing move for Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo as they look to replace Raphael Varane in their backline.

  • Man Utd want to sign Adarabioyo
  • Varane set to leave Old Trafford
  • Defender's Fulham contract will expire in the summer

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have shown interest in signing Fulham defender Adarabioyo in the summer as a free agent as the player's contract expires at the end of the current season. With Raphael Varane confirming his departure from Old Trafford on Tuesday, the Red Devils are looking for quality defensive options to bolster their backline ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Daily Mail reported last week that Newcastle United are in pole position to land the 26-year-old after the Magpies held talks with the player's representatives. The English defender has been a mainstay in the Cottagers' starting lineup after missing the start of the season due to a groin injury. He appeared in 25 matches across all competitions for the club, scoring two goals.

DID YOU KNOW?

Other than the Fulham star, United also have set their eyes set on Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi as reports emerged that The Eagles have started planning to replace the outgoing English defender.

WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER UNITED?

Erik ten Hag's side are set to face Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Wednesday before meeting Brighton in their final game of the season on Sunday.
