Everton are watching SC Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl.

The Sun says Rohl is being considered as a potential replacement for Amadou Onana.

Also keeping tabs on Rohl this season have been Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

The 21 year-old is a Germany U21 international.

Freiburg rated Rohl at around €15m.
