The Sun on Sunday reports that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has emerged as a surprise target for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants considered signing Nunez before he moved to Anfeld from Benfica for €75 million in the summer of 2022.
The report says that Barca could look to refresh their forward line this summer, and the 24-year-old is seen as the perfect fit.
With Nunez faltering in the final weeks of the season, scoring only twice in the last two months, new boss Arne Slot could look to move the striker on and bring in his only attacker. Slot is expected to replace Jurgen Klopp when he leaves at the end of the season.
Robert Lewandowski is Barcelona's biggest earner and could be moved on to open up space in the wage bill -- though the Poland international has insisted he intends to stay at Camp Nou, Nunez's salary is a quarter of that of Lewandowski.
