WHAT HAPPENED?
The 39-year-old has decided to quit Chelsea as he is on the verge of joining Brazilian giants Fluminense on a free transfer at the end of the 2023/24 season, GOAL can confirm. The veteran defender has already reached a verbal agreement with Fluminense and will officially sign for them once his contract with the Blues expires on June 30.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After the club's heartbreaking defeat in the FA Cup semi-final last week against Manchester City, Silva revealed that he has decided on his future, however, he did not want to give out the details right after their ouster from the cup competition.

The former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain star has appeared in 32 matches across all competitions for the West London side this season - scoring four goals in the process.
WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
Mauricio Pochettino's side are currently trailing Arsenal by one goal at the Emirates Stadium. They will be next seen in action in the Premier League on Saturday as they take on Aston Villa.
