Arsenal boast millions of football fans all around the world, but they probably did not know one of Hollywood's biggest stars also follows them
Anne Hathaway amused football fans with her passionate celebration for Leandro Trossard's goal for Arsenal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It had not been a good fortnight for Hathaway and other Gunners' fans, as their season came close to completely unravelling. In the space of a week, Arsenal fans watched their side lose 2-0 at home to Aston Villa to fall behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race and depart the Champions League with a defeat against Bayern Munich.
Luckily for the North Londoners, Mikel Arteta's side pulled themselves up by their bootstraps by overcoming Wolves 2-0 at Molineux. After Trossard opened the scoring, Hathaway let out a huge wave of relief and happiness.
Hathaway was speaking to Interview Magazine alongside her co-star Nicholas Galitzine to promote her new movie 'The Idea of You'. But while the pair were talking to the reporter, Galitzine was keeping an eye on the score.
When Trossard opened the scoring, he immediately told the Brit, who responded by clenching both fists, letting out a huge roar and then shouting "I love you". When their interviewer joined the call, Hathaway explained their allegiance to the Gunners.

"Sorry, we’re both fans of the same team and there’s a match going on right now,” she laughed. “During our last interview, we scored a goal. We’ve had a rough week." After seeing her passionate celebrations, football fans came out in their numbers to express their surprise.
“See how happy Anne Hathaway was when she found out Arsenal were winning 1-0 through Trossard's goal,” one fan laughed. “I did not have this on my 2024 bingo card but hello, YES” another excited Gunner said.
“Anne Hathaway is a Gooner,” one very happy fan said. “Could she be anymore perfect,” another laughed. One fan was even inspired to watch one of her best ever films, saying: “No choice but to watch Bride Wars now.”
Her allegiance resurfaced earlier this month, with Hathaway admitting to "trying to get Mikel Arteta's attention" in other interview with Galitzine.
Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League, but will drop down to second if City overcome Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. The Gunners also host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in their next match.
