Brazil legend Kaka divorced by ex-wife for 'being too perfect' in 'wonderful' family

He was a wonderful footballer and an even better person, yet that was still not good enough for Kaka's wife, who has divorced from the midfield legend

Caroline Celico found the perfect man in Kaka – but divorced him regardless.

The AC Milan and Brazil legend was married to his childhood sweetheart between 2005 and 2015. As well as being a wonderful footballer who won the World Cup and the Ballon d'Or, Kaka was also known for being a devout Christian whose rap sheet was as squeaky clean as his easy on the eye playing style.

Celico, 36, evidently thought this when she agreed to tie the knot with him. Yet, it appears she could not handle how outrageously perfect he was and decided he was too brilliant for his own good.

When asked about why she wanted to part with him, she said: "Kaka never betrayed me, he treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, something was missing. The problem was, he was too perfect for me."

It's a baffling statement which would certainly leave protective football fans in a state of fury. Fortunately, Kaka did not need long to find his new soul mate.

The football legend, who is now 41, started dating Carolina Dias in 2017. This year, the happy couple announced their engagement to the world. In a post on social media, he, more or less, promised to still be the "perfect" person he was.

"You made me the happiest man on earth," he said on social media. "I promise to give you back and make you the happiest woman in the world. I love you."

But while he will be putting his energy into making this relationship work, he still has direct ties with Celico. He and the Brazilian socialite had two children with each other during their time together.

Celico went on to remarry in 2021, committing her future to a life with Eduardo Scarpa Juliao. The couple are now expecting their first child. Kaka is also raising a one-year-old daughter he had with Dias.
