Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are closing in on appointing Julian Nagelsmann as their next manager.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Sky Sport, Bayern Munich are all set to re-appoint Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager after Thomas Tuchel leaves the club at the end of the current season. The German national team coach is considering returning to Allianz Arena after one year but he is yet to give the move the green light.

After Xabi Alonso communicated his decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, the Bavarian club have stepped up their efforts to bring back Nagelsmann. The club's sporting directors Christoph Freund and Max Eberl are currently negotiating the terms with the manager's agency Sports360 and will offer either a three-year or four-year contract.

The former German champions have also kept Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi and Aston Villa coach Unai Emery on their shortlist in case they miss out on Nagelsmann.
WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN MUNICH?
After failing to defend their Bundesliga title, Tuchel's men will now aim to progress in the Champions League and will host Arsenal in the second leg of their quarter-final fixture on Wednesday with the tie leve at 2-2.
