Revealed: Liverpool set for difficult Luis Diaz transfer decision amid interest from PSG and Barcelona as Reds name price for Colombian star

Liverpool face a dilemma over Luis Diaz's future amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona in signing the winger this summer.

  • Diaz has been with Liverpool since 2022
  • Colombia international has contract until 2027
  • PSG and Barcelona monitoring developments

WHAT HAPPENED?

Per the Daily Telegraph, PSG have held talks with Diaz's agent to gauge his interest in joining the club this summer, and the interest shown leaves the Reds with something of a dilemma. The winger has three years left on his deal, but he has yet to sign an extension to the five-year contract he signed and Liverpool are said to be unsure if he will stay for the duration, or potentially move on this summer, when the Reds could still extract a high fee from any potential buyer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Barcelona are also said to hold an interest in Diaz but it would be difficult for them to match Liverpool's £75m ($95m) valuation of the Colombia international. The situation is further complicated by the managerial situation; reports claim the Reds are closing in on the appointment of Ruben Amorim to replace Jurgen Klopp, and Diaz actually shares an agent with the Sporting CP boss.

DID YOU KNOW?

Diaz has made 42 appearances this season and has scored 13 goals, while laying on four assists in total. He has either scored or assisted in each of Liverpool's last three games, and remains a key player under Klopp.

WHAT NEXT?

Diaz's future is unlikely to be settled any time soon, given the fact that the Reds are yet to confirm the appointment of a new manager. One has to think that if Amorim is appointed, he will want to discuss the Colombian's intentions with him.
