Real Madrid's Rodrygo explains why he snubbed Liverpool

Real Madrid star Rodrygo has explained why, back in 2017, he rejected the opportunity to join Liverpool in a bargain €3 million transfer.

"We didn't close the deal because I didn’t want to. I wanted to stay at Santos even though the offer was very good. The pathway they promised me would also have been very good for my career. I was going to finish my studies in England to prepare for European football. It had always been my dream to play in Europe. Everything was very good, but my desire spoke louder. I wanted to stay at Santos and make a bit of history at the club. And that’s what happened: I was able to fulfil my dream of playing for Santos. But it’s true, I almost went to Liverpool."

Christian Pulisic set to recieve new AC Milan contract

Christian Pulisic is reportedly already in line to see his contract extended at AC Milan, with a clause in his current deal about to be triggered.

The United States international only moved to San Siro in the summer of 2023. The €20 million (£17m/$22m) paid out to lure him away from Chelsea is being made to look like quite the bargain, with Pulisic posting personal bests during his debut campaign in Italy.

Corriere dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri are preparing to extend Pulisic’s deal. His contract is due to run until 2027, but there is the option for a further 12 months within those terms. Milan are ready to activate that clause and keep the 25-year-old on their books until at least 2028.
