DAVID DE GEA'S wife Edurne Garcia has revealed they "kidnapped" friends and family at their wedding last year.

Former Manchester United keeper De Gea, 33, tied the knot with singer and presenter Edurne, 38, in July 2023, the same day his contract expired at Old Trafford.

The pair pranked their friends and family on their special day

And the couple, who have a daughter Yanay, 3, had a surprise in store for their loved ones to go with the cocktail party, zip line and foam party.

Speaking on the Spanish show "El Hormiguero" as reported by Marca, Edurne said: "My intention was to get married once in my life and I was clear that it had to be big and something that represented David and me.

"The ceremony, the cocktail party and so on are very good, but after the cocktail party I wanted it to be a surprise and that it was an unforgettable day for the guests.

"So, we did a kind of gymkhana and at dinner, during the desserts, I 'kidnapped' all the guests and put them in vans."

Edurne, who represented Spain in Eurovision nine years ago, added: "There were like 20 kidnappers. I'm very playful, I like to play.

"I like escape rooms, I like people to have a good time. It's true that I thought about myself and maybe the guests didn't feel like it. But it is also true that they all had a great time.

"I 'kidnapped' them and took them to another place where I had prepared a gymkhana for them with games like 'El comecocos' (Pac Man) or 'Fortnite' for them to play.

"Then, after that yes, there was another fun fair that was the zip line and the foam party, which was an illusion that I had had all my life."

De Gea is still without a club nearly one year on from his Man Utd exit.

He has been linked with a move to the likes of Newcastle and Barcelona.

But he is yet to put pen to paper and was seen at the weekend spending Easter in the Bahamas with Edurne and Yanay.
