Barcelona star stops car to furiously confront fan and deliver 'last time' warning

Barcelona star Inigo Martinez was caught on camera leaving his car in the middle of the road to have a heated argument with a young football fan.

Over the weekend, Martinez played a full match as Barcelona narrowly beat Las Palmas 1-0, keeping their Champions League qualification hopes alive. Xavi's side are currently second in the league after their win on Saturday.

However, the video, which did the rounds on social media, emerged soon after their vital victory in La Liga. It's currently unknown when the incident may have happened.

The youngster is believed to be a supporter of Athletic Bilbao, who Martinez used to play for, before joining Barcelona. The video shows Martinez stopping his Range Rover and exchanging words with the fan, before getting back into his vehicle.

He reportedly said: "This is the last time you call me a fool or insult me, the last time you and your friend insult me." The video will likely bring a haze of controversy over the Nou Camp, in spite of their positive result.

Their mood will not be helped by the fact that Girona, the Catalans rival for second position, also had a close win against Real Betis. At the end of the season, Barcelona will say goodbye to their manager Xavi, who led them to victory last season but has decided it's time to move on.

Despite the impending changes in the dugout, though, Barca have progressed to a Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain. Martinez started the first leg of the round of 16 victory over Napoli but was on the bench for the second-leg victory, a result hailed by captain Sergi Roberto, reports the Mirror.

"An incredible night, it's been four years away from being where this club should be," Sergi Roberto said. Very happy. Let's enjoy this moment. The fans have been with us and that is very important. The Camp Nou is very different but we need this atmosphere in every game.

"Thank you to the fans. We started well and in the end a good result and very happy. I think that in Naples we already had a great first half. We needed to finish with goals like today. It is normal that a team like Napoli can score against you." I could have scored but the play went perfectly. I saw that Robert [Lewandowski] was alone at the penalty spot and I'm happy to assist him."
