Borussia Dortmund's Der Klassiker win over Bayern Munich was a throwback to times gone by.
And the same could be said for one member of the winning line-up in particular as Mats Hummels succeeded in keeping Harry Kane quiet at the Allianz Arena. That's a job not many defenders in Europe have managed this season, with the England captain a shoo-in for the Bundesliga's Golden Boot as he sits on 31 league goals in his debut German campaign.
But containing Bayern's frontman proved no sweat for the 35-year-old Hummels, whose ex-wife once made headlines after posing nude alongside her sister, Vanessa. Cathy Fischer - who split from the footballer in 2022 but still uses his surname - ditched her duds for the cover of German Playboy the year after her divorce from Hummels.
Despite their marriage coming to an end, even Fischer may have been bowled over by 2014 World Cup-winner Hummels' performance in Bavaria. And she won't have been alone after he earned praise as "one of the best of his generation" in his position.
"Mats Hummels is 35 years old and playing out of his skin against the likes of Kane, Musiala, Sane etc," gushed football writer Zach Lowy. "He gets so much praise for his ball-playing ability but his last-ditch defending and reactions are still so good after all these years. One of the best CBs of his generation."

Dortmund's win solidified them at fourth in the Bundesliga, while Bayern now sits 13 points off Bayer Leverkusen and has almost certainly lost the Bundesliga crown. The last time Die Roten failed to win Germany's top flight was in 2012 when Jurgen Klopp's Dortmund usurped the throne - and Kane was on loan at Millwall.
Fischer found herself in hot water earlier this year when she was criticised for advertising her children's cook book semi-nude. She swiftly deleted any reference to said pictures, however, before publicising her works with slightly more clothing.

She also made headlines in 2023 after she appeared on a German radio station and said she "loves to snog when drunk." It appears she's moved on since splitting from Hummels, who is doing just fine himself if on-field performances is anything to go by.
