Kylian Mbappe to stay at PSG?! Luis Enrique explains what could convince star to 'change his mind' and snub Real Madrid move

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has not given up hope of Kylian Mbappe staying at the club despite reports of an imminent summer exit.

  • Mbappe expected to leave PSG this summer
  • Free transfer to Real Madrid on the cards
  • Luis Enrique hopes forward will stay

WHAT HAPPENED?

Mbappe has reportedly informed PSG that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season and is expected to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid. No such move has been confirmed by either party and the PSG coach feels there is a chance the 25-year-old will end up staying in the French capital.

WHAT LUIS ENRIQUE SAID

He told Prime Video: "I still hope that Kylian changes his mind. He hasn't said anything at the moment, he can change his opinion. Let's imagine that we win all four titles this season and that Kylian makes his decision at the last moment... that his place is in Paris. Why not? We'll see."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mbappe has stayed silent on his future, too, and recently denied that he has made a decision on whether or not he will leave PSG for Madrid. He said while on international duty: “I didn’t announce anything because I had nothing to announce. I've always said that the day I have something to say, I will come and introduce myself as a man and I will speak. Sorry to disappoint, but I don't have anything juicy to announce."

WHAT NEXT FOR PSG?

Mbappe and PSG remain in contention to win Ligue 1, the Champions League and the Coupe de France, having already won the Trophee des Champions. The French giants will take on rivals Marseille in the league on Sunday.
