Real Madrid to lose a wonderkid?! Teenager Paulo Iago disappointed with lack of playing time and is seeking summer exit

Real Madrid youngster Paulo Iago is reportedly disappointing with his lack of playing time and looks set to leave the club this summer.
- Iago barely playing for Madrid's U19s
- Midfielder not interested in new contract
- Set to leave Los Blancos this summer
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Spanish publication Relevo, Madrid will not stand in the 16-year-old's way of leaving the La Liga outfit as they would rather collect some sort of fee for him this summer, rather than losing him for free in 2025.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Iago has been billed as one of Madrid's most exciting academy products but he has barely played for their under-19 side this term. The report adds the club does not have much confidence in him and his ability and that has led to a souring of relations over recent months. It seems he will join pastures new later in 2024.
DID YOU KNOW?
Iago reportedly scored more than 150 goals in his first five years in Madrid's academy and then signed with super agent Jorge Mendes as a result. After signing his first contract with Madrid in 2022, he has struggled to really kick on for Los Blancos, however.
WHAT NEXT?
Iago, who also had spells with Parque Sureste, Adpi Rivas and Estrella de Madrid before joining Real's youth setup, will hope to play some part in the remainder of his side's season - but it could continue to be a frustrating spell for the teenager.
