Barcelona remain in contact with Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams

Barcelona remain in the hunt for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

Sport says Barcelona are in contact with Williams and his representatives.

They are following the young winger's situation - and are considering trying to sign the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window.

However, the finances can become a problem - as Athletic Bilbao will not release Williams for less than €50m.

Barcelona will therefore be forced to sell players before they can try to sign Williams - and so the club has also identified cheaper alternatives.

Williams extended his contract with Athletic Bilbao last December. The new agreement runs until the summer of 2026.
