WHAT HAPPENED?

Bayern hit back at Alphonso Davies' agent but sporting director Max Eberl admits full-back must 'make a decision' amid Real Madrid links

Davies' agent claimed that Bayern have issued his client with an "unfair ultimatum" and that he is being "attacked", as Eberl has previously said that he must either sign a new contract by April or bring to the table an offer from a club willing to sign him. Davies' agent says that they will make a decision in the summer, but that may not fly for the Bavarian giants.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a swoop to sign Davies and reports have claimed that he has already agreed to join the Spanish giants. Now, Eberl has hit back at the Canada international's camp, although he accepts that a decision must soon be made.

WHAT EBERL SAID

Eberl said to Sky Germany: "We are not under pressure. There is a normal relationship between player and club. That is completely normal. We think that we have made a very fair and correct offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no, that's the way it is. I can't wait for the day before Christmas and say that 'A decision will fall from heaven at some point'. Decisions have to come from all sides."

He added: "Some stone has to fall... It is completely legitimate that you have to make a decision at some point, regardless of whether it is Alphonso Davies or another player."

WHAT NEXT?

Davies has been on the bench for Bayern's last three games and it remains to be seen if he will play this weekend against Borussia Dortmund.
