Arsenal eyeing Villa attacker Luiz: 'I know for a fact'

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Arsenal are still targeting an Aston Villa midfielder.

Robinson has indicated that the Gunners are very serious about securing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The all-action central midfielder has been exceptional for Villa since the arrival of manager Unai Emery midway through last season.

"Their books are worrying," Robinson stated to the Football Insider about Villa and a possible breach of the Premier League's PSR.

"From a Villa point of view, if they don't get Champions League football, the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz could want to leave. I know for a fact that Arsenal are looking at Luiz.

"If Villa were in a situation where they had to balance the books, Ramsey and Luiz bring you £100 million between them at least – there are your books balanced. Fans won't want to hear that though."
