Sara Gundogan joked Ilkay prefers the Champions League

Sara Gundogan has joked she'll never be no.1 in Ilkay Gundogan's life - that spot belongs to the Champions League trophy.

The stunning brunette starred in Married to the Game, a Prime Video series which goes behind the scenes with the other halves of football stars. The WAGs of James Tarkowski, Jorginho, Matt Turner and Riyad Mahrez also feature in the series.

In the opening episode, Sara is visiting Taylor Ward, the better half of Riyad Mahrez, when Taylor jokes Mahrez is going to frame a picture of him with the Champions League trophy.

Taylor said: "Riyad's going to be framing the pictures, putting them on every wall as like a moment in history in his career!" The camera then cuts to Sara who is nodding her head agreeing.

She responds: "I know, Ilkay's obsession and the love of his life is the Champions League before me. So, for sure, he will print off this photo and put it on our bedroom wall!"

Sara had perviously slammed Manchester's food scene, but speaking to the Daily Mail, she said: "When I was in Manchester, my whole life was [originally] around football.

"I think it's really hard to live in England when you are alone in the house and you can't meet anyone. But when you start to know a bit more about it, how to go around and have friends, I think the place changes completely and you can enjoy it.

"I started to enjoy everything and I kind of miss Manchester now."
