Astrid Wett criticised for getting innocent Chelsea fan 'trolled relentlessly because of her lies'

Astrid Wett has come under fire after being accused of lying about a Chelsea fan giving her a ticket for the Carabao Cup final.

The Chelsea-loving content creator claimed she turned up at Wembley on Sunday to discover the ticket she'd bought was a fake, before being rescued by a supposed good Samaritan who handed her his 'son's ticket'. Wett, 23, uploaded a snap to social media of herself and the fan, who was subsequently bombarded with abusive messages.

The following day, a friend of his took to X to rubbish Astrid's claims, insisting she was "lying for likes" and that his pal had been "trolled relentlessly" as a result. Quoting her post, he wrote: "This guy is a friend of mine and this fake hungry t*** has blatantly lied to get likes or whatever.

"He’s been trolled relentlessly because of her lies. If you could retweet so people see it’s bullshit that’d be great . He’s had to answer to employer family etc".

Wett later hit back, uploading screenshots supposedly showing the direct messages she'd received from the supporter in question just before the game. She encouraged the trolling to stop, but claimed her 'ticket saviour' had asked her for money after realising her photo with him had gone viral.

"Firstly don’t want anyone to lose their job," she wrote. Wett added: "So please don’t hate on him. But don’t dm me asking if I need a ticket, then to get paid for the photo you ASKED me for?"

However, social media users were having none of it after noticing the time stamps on the messages she supposedly received from the fan, which noted that their conversation happened on Monday, February 19, six days before the final, indicating the screenshots had been doctored.

One follower responded saying: "Clearly you're lying through your teeth. Horrible person. Another fumed: "You lied effortlessly and you still have the audacity to type? This guy has been trolled relentlessly because of your lies. Is this the cheapest thing you can do? He nearly lost his job, this is the UK and you know exactly how things work here. You're pathetic."

Astrid had to watch her beloved Blues succumb to their sixth successive domestic cup final defeat in a row as they were beaten 1-0 (AET) by Jurgen Klopp's Reds, with Van Dijk grabbing the winner with four minutes to go before penalties with a brilliant header.
