If apples were allowed in the Cristiano Ronaldo household, they wouldn't fall far from the tree.

The five-time Ballon d'Or-winner proved as much after after sharing a photo of him and his 13 year old son working out together on Instagram. And the update came as his son is apparently pleading with his dad to continue playing football so that they can share the field together, per the Daily Mirror.

Last year, the Portuguese superstar made his first move outside of Europe by joining Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo, 39, was the first big name to make the move to the Middle East, and he continues to be a key player as he leads the scoring charts with 21 goals this season.

Ronaldo's commitment to staying fit is well-known, and he often shares photos of his workouts on social media. He recently posted a shirtless picture of him and Cristiano Jnr with the caption: "Today with my partner."

Cristiano Jnr, who is tipped to follow in his father's footsteps, has played at several different academies and is currently part of Al-Nassr's under-13 team. The teen prospect - who shares a ripped physique in common with his famous father - is happy with his progress and hopes to one day share the pitch with his dad before he retires.

The young star said: "I am very happy to have come here and I feel comfortable with [Al-Nassr], and I adapted quickly and enjoyed a lot during the current season, thank God."

Meanwhile, his dad recently confessed: "My son tells me, 'Dad, hold on a few more years. I want to play with you!'" Despite turning 39 this month, Ronaldo recently suggested at the Globe Soccer Awards that he might keep playing for another decade.

"The moment I finish, I don't know to be honest," he said in jest. "Of course it will be soon, soon I mean 10 years more. No, I am joking. I don't know, let's see."

Even as he's gotten older, Ronaldo has kept winning trophies and scoring plenty of goals along the way. Some folks thought his football days were nearly over when he moved to Saudi Arabia, but the results suggest that may not be the case.

"They say Ronaldo is done. . .but it's not true," said the superstar upon moving to Saudi. "I will continue to play until my legs say, 'Cristiano, I'm done.' I still have a lot. I still love football and scoring goals. I still love winning. They say I'm done, but I'm still proving that it's not true."
