It takes a lot to impress Roy Keane, and his colleagues are no exception to that rule.

If anything, Ian Wright was subject to even more scrutiny by his fellow pundit when the subject of his tattoos came up recently. And the appraisal went just about as well as one would expect, with the Manchester United icon dubbing one of Wright's works in particular "the most ridiculous thing" he'd ever heard of.

The pair appeared alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott while recording a recent episode of The Overlap. Former Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker Wright was asked to explain one tattoo on the outside of his left thumb, which had the digits eight, nine and 10 in rising order.

His colleagues were initially glad of Wright's response and broke into laughter after Carragher said: "I thought someone had died!" However, Keane's response was nowhere near as light-hearted as he gave a typically candid opinion on the ink.

"It's ridiculous," the 52-year-old exclaimed. "It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my life! I'll get another player's shirt number on my. . ."

The Irishman couldn't even finish his sentence before frustration took over and he trailed off, seemingly looking for a distraction from the conversation. Former England forward Scott, meanwhile, found Wright's gesture to Lineker and Shearer sweet as she wondered whether the Overlap crew would do the same.

Neville, 48, asked whether Lineker and Shearer got identical tattoos in return. But Wright replied: "No. But they haven't got that kind of love to give, have they?"

If love is the measure of what it would take for someone to get such a tribute to their friend, then Keane has none lost for his fellow pundits. However, that didn't stop Neville joking his former Old Trafford general already has some bodywork in tribute to him.
